The following sleep routine is suitable for babies between 2 and 3 months old:-
Time | Action |
---|---|
7am | Awake, Breastfeed/bottle |
8.30/9am | Nap – Max 2 hours |
10.30/11am | Breastfeed/Bottle |
12.30/1pm | Your baby should be going for their 2nd nap, 2 hours after wakening from their first nap. |
2.30/3pm | Breastfeed/Bottle |
4.15pm | Nap |
5.00pm | Awake |
6.00pm | Calm Time |
6.15pm | Breastfeed/Bottle |
6.45 | Bedtime |
10.30pm | Breastfeed/Bottle |
(4 hrs sleep in total)
At this stage it is worth introducing water during the day from time to time between feeds as sometimes your baby may be thirsty rather than hungry.
If your baby wakes at about 5am and seems hungry but then does not drink well at 7am I would advise that you start offering water at 5am instead of milk.
Sleep Routine Basics
Babies and children function better when they know what is coming next.
